This special women-only tour offers a unique opportunity to explore Kosovo through a female perspective, guided by a Kosovar tour guide advocating for women’s rights and social inclusion. Through her insights and lived experience, we will gain a deeper understanding of how women in Kosovo are shaping the country’s future while navigating the legacies of war and partial recognition.
We’ll explore historic cities and archeological sites. But beyond the landmarks, we will also encounter the human stories behind Kosovo’s transformation while meeting female entrepreneurs, community leaders, and local initiatives that are rebuilding and strengthening society.

Itinerary
Since we’re starting early on the 14th, we’ve included one night of accommodation for you to settle in and be fresh for the start of our Kosovo journey! We suggest arriving after 2 pm to check into your hotel, which is located within walking distance of the city center.
Overnight in Pristina.
We’ll start our day by meeting with a local NGO then visiting the Ulpiana Archeological Park, one of the country’s most important Roman sites. You’ll then continue to the impressive Novobërda Castle, a medieval fortress with great views across the surrounding landscape.
After exploring the castle, we’ll stop for lunch at Lura Agritourism, enjoying local food in a beautiful rural setting. Afterwards we’ll go to Pogražje, where we’ll have time to explore and enjoy the countryside.
For those looking for a little adventure, there’s also the option to take on the zip line before we head back. The evening is then yours to relax or explore independently.
Overnight in Prishtina.
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
After breakfast, we’ll travel to Prekaz to visit the Adem Jashari Memorial Complex. This deeply important historical site tells the story of Kosovo’s struggle for independence and the sacrifices made during the conflict.
From here, we continue to Prizren, widely considered Kosovo’s cultural capital. With its Ottoman architecture and stone bridges, Prizren offers a completely different vibe from the capital.
After lunch, we’ll explore the Old Town on a guided walking tour, visiting historic mosques and traditional filigree workshops. For those interested, an optional climb to Prizren Fortress offers spectacular panoramic views of the city.
You’ll be free in the evening to enjoy Prizren at leisure.

Overnight in Prizren
We’ll start the morning by visiting the Krusha e Madhe Museum, which is run by genocide survivors, followed by a visit to the Krusha cooperative, which is the one that inspired the award-winning film Hive.
This cooperative was created for female survivors of the war and widows. The founder helped create economic opportunities for women in her community by building a cooperative that produces traditional food products and preserves local culinary traditions, like the beloved ajvar (pepper paste).
In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in the historic city of Gjakova, known for its beautifully restored Ottoman-era bazaar. Here we’ll explore the Old Bazaar, Hadumi Mosque, and the Qerkezi Family House Museum. We’ll finish the day with a painting workshop by a local artist.

Overnight in Gjakova.
After breakfast, we’ll visit the Patriarchate of Peja, another UNESCO World Heritage site that reflects Kosovo’s rich and complex cultural heritage.
From here, we head into the spectacular Rugova Canyon, one of the country’s best natural landscapes. We’ll also visit the Drini i Bardhë Waterfall near Radavci and have the option to explore the fascinating Sleeping Beauty Cave.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant known for its fresh trout and traditional cuisine.
In the late afternoon, you’ll drive back to Pristina, which is where your tour officially ends.

We suggest making the most of your stay in the region, and booking an onward bus to Tirana, Albania or Skopje, North Macedonia. Both are only a few hours away and can easily be booked that evening. We suggest booking return buses at 8 pm and flights from 9 pm onwards.
Transport to the airport or the bus station is included for this evening. If you wish to extend your stay in Kosovo, let us know and we can assist you with accommodation, transportation, and anything else you might require.

Logistics ✈️
Trip dates: Sept 13th – 18th, 2027
Logistics: We’re providing an extra night of accommodation on the 13th for you to settle in and be ready for our tour. We suggest arriving in Prishtina, Kosovo (airport code: PRN) anytime after 2 PM on the 13th of September. We’ll start our tour at 10 am on the 14th followed by a welcome lunch.
The tour officially finishes in Pristina (PRN) on the 18th of September after 6 pm. We suggest booking any departure flights after 9 pm. Skopje (the capital of North Macedonia) is only a 2 hour bus ride away and there are buses leaving until 10 pm if you’d like to continue your journey in the region! If the flight schedules do not align, we will be happy to arrange extra hotel nights & airport transfers if needed! Please reach out directly to help you out 🙂

Travel tip: You’ll find direct flights to Pristina from most major European cities, and from Istanbul. Low-cost airlines like EasyJet and WizzAir also have flights available. If you have a bit more time, add a few more days after this trip to make the most of your holiday and head out to Skopje or Tirana – just a few hours away by bus.
