FAQs

Booking is easy! Visit our website, choose your desired tour, and follow the booking instructions. We will ask you to fill out a short form to get to know you better. We only operate with small groups to make this experience as immersive as possible, this is why we recommend making a deposit as soon as possible if you’re interested in joining us. We have kept this low for your comfort and flexibility, and these range from $99-150 USD per person.

They are not included. This means that our groups are very international. Anyone from any part of the world can join us! You book the tour, show up, relax, and we take care of the rest.

Our tour packages generally cover accommodation, transportation, activities, and select meals as specified. However, we can assist you in finding the best flight options and provide recommendations if you need any. Our decades of travel experience mean that we’re experts at finding the best flights. Just reach out!

All deposits are non-refundable. Please note that the moment you book with us we secure services on the ground in the countries that we operate in.

If you cancel the booking, cancellation charges will be imposed as shown below:

a) 60 days or more prior to departure – loss of deposit
b) 59-30 days before departure – 50% of tour cost
c) Less than 30 days – 100% of tour cost

In order to participate in our tours, it is a requirement to have travel insurance. If a situation were to arise from your side, you would be completely covered this way. You can read our full cancelation policy here or just reach out to us if you have any questions!

Definitely! Our company is registered in the USA but our audience is international. We welcome people of all backgrounds, ages (18+) and nationalities. All we ask for is an open-mind, curiosity, and the willingness to respect and learn from others. If this combined with fun and sightseeing with a group of like-minded travelers sound appealing, all you have to do is book your spot!

Most of our guests are actually solo travelers! You can bring someone along if you’d like, but we promise you that you’ll never feel alone during our trips. Our mission is for you to interact with other travelers, locals and make lasting connections while traveling. Both founders of The Hybrid Tours are solo female travelers – one of their favorite ways to travel is by joining tours like the ones we created!

This depends on the location, but we won’t have more than 10-12 people per group in each one of our destinations. We believe that this is essential for you to be able to experience the country and its people in an immersive way. This also allows you to interact fully with each participant. This is not the type of travel where you’ll be sharing a bus with 30-50 other people and feel like you’re being herded from one place to the next.

We do not engage in budget travel. Unless otherwise specified, we do aim for 4* or above accommodation wherever we go. The important thing to remember is that we use local businesses – this is an essential part of sustainable travel. This is how your money can directly make a positive impact in the communities that we visit.

In many touristy places, international hotel chains are slowly taking over, making our choices more limited when it comes to accommodation. In places like Wadi Rum (the desert in Jordan), we use Bedouin camps to give you an authentic feeling of the location. We can assure you that all the accommodation we use has been personally vetted and approved by our team.

We have single supplement options available in our tours for an additional price! You can find this listed in each one of our itineraries. If you are interested in having your own room, we do suggest booking this when you pay your deposit. We have a limited amount of single rooms available in each location and we want to make sure you don’t miss out. If you have any questions, you know where to find us!

Many tour operators around the world manage to keep prices low by taking their guests shopping. This means that the tour operator will keep a commission from all of the purchases that you make at a shop, and make up for the low-cost of the tour this way. As a travel company, The Hybrid Tours does not engage in this type of business. You will be given free time to go shopping on your own if this is something you’d like to do, but it is not a part of our business model. Our goal is fun and cultural immersion!

Depending on the location, we might be able to provide assistance. If you are not sure about the visa situation with your nationality, please reach out to us directly to help you out.

At The Hybrid Tours, we’re committed to redefining travel through innovative itineraries, sustainability, and personalized experiences. We do this in small groups. We offer a unique blend of recreation and education to make your travel experience as immersive as possible.  You’ll be having fun, traveling AND learning about the world through locals. We believe that there is no better classroom out there than travel.

Our itineraries are crafted together with locals. We work together with them to show you the best spots in a country that they recommend. Most importantly, we make sure that our itineraries are completely UNIQUE. You won’t find anything else online that covers the locations and activities that we do in each one of our destinations.

We prioritize sustainability by supporting eco-friendly practices, local communities, and minimizing our carbon footprint. Our tours are designed to leave a positive impact on the environment and communities we visit by working together with them every step of the way. Imagine traveling and knowing that your money is directly boosting the economy and helping locals thrive. That is the beauty of The Hybrid Tours!

Through our work and connections with Our World Too, we are able to give you an experience that is unique in the travel sphere: meeting with refugees. You will be learning about the history of your destination through people that have ACTUALLY lived it. The goal is to break the stereotypes surrounding refugees, and for them to reach an audience they would otherwise not have access to: travelers from around the world.

Is there a price to trauma? We deal with very delicate topics, and many of the people that we encounter are survivors. We have two different ways of operating here. Whether it’s a cooking/crafts class or leading a group, these are people who are paid directly for providing a service, which is obviously the way it should be. For those simply meeting with us to share their stories, we make a donation to an organization of their choice.

This donation is already included in the price that you pay for the trip. If you would like to make an additional donation after the meeting to support their activism and awareness raising efforts, you are more than welcome to. This is the most ethical solution we could come up with.

We work together with professional guides, and all of them speak fluent English. Our guides are not just knowledgeable; they’re passionate about the destinations they lead and will treat you like part of their extended family right from the start. They don’t just provide facts – they’re storytellers, and will give you insights into a country like you’ve never experienced before.

We only require a small deposit to book your spot. Depending on the trip price, this ranges from $99-150 USD per person. The remaining amount can be split in 2-5 installments depending on what you prefer. Just reach out to us directly to arrange a plan for you! This will be arranged in a way that your trip will be paid in full 4-8 weeks before the tour begins.

You can reach us via email or Instagram DM if you have any questions. You can also schedule a 15 minute call with us to assist you with any questions, concerns, or assistance you may need before, during, or after your journey.

The Hybrid Tour was my first group trip and one of the best travel decisions I've ever made. I was surrounded by a wonderful group of people all willing to learn, grow, and have lots of fun! Our guides/facilitators were the best I've ever had. They skillfully led us through hard conversations and fixed any obstacle we encountered. Plus, they know how to have a good time. Our talks with local activists were also invaluable. 10/10
