We're bringing another Exciting Trip

We’re back with another group trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina! This time around, we want to show you the beauty of this country on our new itinerary: The Summer Edition. This is one of our favorite countries in the world and the one that inspired us to run tours.

Enjoy the Adventure

Bosnia offers breathtaking nature, historic towns, and an incredible mix of cultures that is not commonly found around the world. However, it wouldn’t be possible to visit this beautiful country without learning about the Bosnian Genocide which lasted from 1992-1995.

Through this partnership, we have combined the best of fun and education. It is being led by Our World Too, an organisation dedicated to changing the way we perceive refugees. Together, we’ve created this Hybrid Tour to bring you the best of both worlds - the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history, culture and tourist highlights of Bosnia and Herzegovina while also visiting sites such as the Srebrenica Memorial Museum and learning more about the war from survivors – people who have LIVED through history.

If you’re looking to visit a lesser-known destination in Europe, travel in a completely different way, get to meet new people and immerse yourself in a new culture, then come and join us!

Bosnia: The Summer Edition

The trip to Bosnia was one of my favorite experiences ever. I got to explore the country, its diverse people, complicated history, and delicious food so well within just a few days. You will meet people who went through unspeakable pain but you will also get to relax and laugh lots along the way. The incredible and loving people who organise the trip are dedicated to the fullest and it feels more like you’re hanging out with old friends! Don’t think too much just sign up, it’s worth every penny!

If you’re looking to visit a lesser-known destination in Europe, travel in a completely different way, get to meet new people and immerse yourself in a new culture, then come and join us from Jun 29 – Jul 5, 2025, as we embark on a journey through Bosnia and Herzegovina!

We also offer an additional add-on if you would like to extend your trip and see more of this beautiful country.

Included / Excluded

To help you plan your trip, we have put together a list of what's included and what's not included in your tour package. This will give you a clear understanding of what to expect and help you make any necessary arrangements before your journey begins.

Itinerary

We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.

Our team will be waiting for you in the city centre of Dubrovnik to be picked up at 1 pm. Dubrovnik has better connections than airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina so this will make things easier for you. We would also suggest you take advantage of this stop to explore Dubrovnik before we pick you up!

We will then begin our journey towards Mostar, during which you will witness the beautiful landscape of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You’ll have some time to explore the beautiful sights that Mostar has to offer before our welcome dinner in the evening.

We will be staying in the Kriva Cuprija Hotel, which is the only UNESCO heritage site hotel in the whole city. This beautiful building has been preserved for more than 500 years.

Meals included: Dinner

Overnight in Mostar. Kriva Cuprija Hotel or equivalent

This morning we’ll explore the beautiful old town of Mostar, this will include walking over the historic Stari Most! As you walk across the cobbled streets and make your way to Mostar’s famous landmarks, our local Bosnian guide will be sharing stories from the Siege of Mostar and how people in the city survived during the Bosnian Genocide.

You can also visit the Koski-Mehmed Pasha’s Mosque. Built in 1618 and rebuilt after the war where you will have the opportunity to climb the minaret for sweeping views of Stari Most and Mostar (tickets for the mosque and minaret will be self-funded).

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Dervish Lodge located in picturesque Blagaj (tickets included). You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some afternoon coffee or tea against a backdrop of the crystalline waters of the Buna River.

Once you’ve enjoyed Blagaj to your heart’s content, we’ll head back to Mostar for the night.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Mostar. Kriva Cuprija Hotel or equivalent

We’ll spend the day in the beautiful town of Stolac learning more about the history of the city and how conditions were during the Bosnian War, including visiting a traditional home!

The necropolis in Radimlja, one of the most valuable monuments of the medieval period in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the ancient citadel of Daorson are just two of the unique historical pearls that we will explore in Stolac.

In the afternoon, after having lunch by the beautiful waterfalls in Stolac, we’ll visit Pocitelj. Here you’ll be able to visit the historic fortress and learn about the aggression the village was subjected to by Croatian nationalists during the Bosnian war.

Later in the day, we’ll be making our way to Sarajevo for the evening.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Sarajevo.

On our fourth day, we’ll visit the memorial site of Srebrenica-Potocari, where 8,372 Muslim men and boys were murdered in July 1995 as a result of sustained fascist and ethnonational propaganda spread by Serb nationalists.

Despite frequently being overlooked by media outlets in their coverage of the invasion of Ukraine, the Srebrenica Genocide was the worst atrocity to take place on European soil since WW2.

The extensive use of propaganda during the war in Bosnia dehumanised and painted the Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) population as an ‘incompatible other’. By visiting the memorial site you’re taking part in a necessary effort to learn the importance of combating hate and preserving the stories of survivors and victims for future generations.

Meals included: Breakfast

Overnight in Sarajevo

After breakfast, we’ll begin bright and early with a short drive to the Tunnel of Hope (tickets included). This structure is what allowed Sarajevans to be able to survive during the longest siege in modern history. After a guided tour of the tunnel, we’ll be making our way back to Sarajevo where we’ll be hosting lunch. You’ll be able to try burek, a Bosnian delicacy. Vegetarian options are available.

After lunch, we’ll go on a guided tour of Bosnia’s beautiful capital city Sarajevo, a city steeped in medieval and modern history. Our expert local guide will walk you through the cobblestone streets of the historic Baščaršija area of Sarajevo.

In the evening, you will have some free time to join us for an optional cable car trip (tickets will be self-funded) to enjoy breathtaking views of the city or you can choose to explore the city and its traditional handmade stalls and bakeries. This will be a great opportunity to purchase locally-made gifts and souvenirs to take home with you.

Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Overnight in Sarajevo

We will be venturing up north to the town of Ahmići, a village where hundreds lost their lives due to aggression from Croat nationalist forces. Following this, we will continue onwards to Jajce, famous for its nature and stunning waterfalls. There is ziplining here available for an additional price.

After Jajce, we’ll head on to Travnik, a historic town in the central part of Bosnia. Here you’ll find Bosnian architecture that is unique to this region. We’ll walk through the narrow streets and learn more about the history before making our way to the Cevabdzinica Hari for our goodbye dinner. Locals all around the country claim this is the best spot in Bosnia and Herzegovina for cevapi!

After dinner, we’ll make our way back to Sarajevo for the evening.

Meals: Breakfast and dinner.

Overnight in Sarajevo

On our last day, you’ll have some free time to roam around the city and get those gifts you were tempted to buy on day 1! You can also join us for some tea and baklava at one of our favorite spots in the city.

The tour will officially end after this. Transport to airports is not included but can be arranged upon request. Should you wish to extend your stay in Bosnia, let us know and we can assist you with accommodation, transportation, and anything else you might require.

Thank you for joining us on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

The immersive experience with Hybrid Tours, merging culture and education, broadened my understanding of historical events, giving me a more nuanced perspective of the complexities and contexts behind them. Interacting with knowledgeable guides, first-hand witnesses and historians brought stories to life, filling in gaps and answering questions that I never knew I had. The founders Hira and Sibu's passion and expertise were infectious, making each moment on the tour enlightening and memorable.

This was the most unique trip I have ever been on. It combined the very tough history of Bosnia and Herzegovina along with tourism: sharing the beautiful cities and natural areas in this country! I had some of the best food I’ve ever had in Europe, saw incredible nature and also experienced meeting so many amazing individuals that were survivors of the genocide. They shared their stories and I learned in a way I never had, not from museums but from the people that actually lived through the events themselves! This is a pioneer for a new type of tourism! Get on these trips before they start filling out like crazy!

This was not only my first trip to Bosnia, but it was also my first trip to Europe and it was beyond my expectations. Beginning with the history, to the road trip, to learning about the nation, it was a wonderful experience. The best part was that the guide Demir and The Hybrid Tours didn’t treat us like tourists - they treated us like friends throughout the whole trip. I’m excited to go back and visit Bosnia!

I had the opportunity to behold, explore and learn about Bosnia and Herzegovina through the perspective of its warm and charming locals. And.. Whoa. I never could’ve anticipated how exquisite, fascinating and deeply worthwhile of an experience it would be traveling through some of the nation’s past and present. To feast my eyes on otherworld beauty. To witness the fierce spirit of citizens still suffering from ongoing injustices. To drive through gorgeous mountains, soak in panoramic views of fairyland waterfalls and chill in city centers with a culture preserved from a time before. To walk in the spaces where the genocide took place in the 90s. To talk with lovely, down to earth and laid back locals who... remember.

The trip to Bosnia was rewarding in many ways; I learned a lot about the historical and cultural background of the city in a different era. It is a country that carries a lot of sorrows and scars, that has experienced tensions but is still filled with charm and beauty. I am talking about its unique landscapes and the brightness it has kept despite its past. Shared collective pain and joy are, in my opinion, what brings people together and creates connections. This is exactly what I experienced in Bosnia and so, I am deeply humbled and grateful for the testimonies of Demir Mahmutcehajic, Hasan Nuhanovic, and Nana Fata who have chosen to act with generosity in sharing their stories rather than with bitterness. I am also very grateful to have met people who were equally drawn to discovering Bosnia's past and with whom I could experience and share a range of emotions that came up during my visit. A heartfelt thank you to Hira, Sibu and Demir for organizing this wonderful trip. I highly recommend it.
