We’re back with another group trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina! This time around, we want to show you the beauty of this country on our new itinerary: Beyond Mostar: Easter in Herzegovina. This is one of our favorite countries in the world and the one that inspired us to run tours.

Enjoy the Adventure

Herzegovina offers breathtaking nature, historic towns, and a rich blend of cultures that is truly unique. From its stunning landscapes to its historic sites, Herzegovina has so much to offer, but it’s impossible to fully experience this region without understanding its complex history, including the Bosnian War and its lasting impact.

Through our partnership with Our World Too, an organization committed to reshaping perceptions about refugees, we’ve created tours that combine the best of exploration and education. This tour immerses you in the history, culture, and highlights of Herzegovina, from iconic sites like Mostar's Stari Most to the moving stories of war survivors and visits to key memorial sites.

If you’re seeking a lesser-known European destination where you can travel differently, connect with locals, and experience culture in an authentic and meaningful way, then join us for an unforgettable journey through Herzegovina!

Included / Excluded

To help you plan your trip, we have put together a list of what's included and what's not included in your tour package. This will give you a clear understanding of what to expect and help you make any necessary arrangements before your journey begins.

Itinerary

We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.

Our team will arrange two pickups in Sarajevo around midday. There first one will be from the airport, and the second from the city centre. Several different flight options at various prices arrive in Sarajevo in the morning.

If this is not convenient, we can arrange pickups for an additional fee from Dubrovnik (DBV) and Split (SPU).

We will then begin our journey towards Mostar, during which you will see the beautiful landscape of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  Upon arrival in the historic city of Mostar, we will embark on a guided city tour exploring Mostar’s iconic landmarks and learning about its rich history. Our local Bosnian guide will also be sharing stories from the Siege of Mostar and how people in the city survived during the Bosnian Genocide.

In the late afternoon, you’ll be immersing yourself in local craftsmanship with a visit to a traditional copper workshop.

To end the day, we will treat you to a traditional dinner!

Meals included: Dinner

Overnight in Mostar.

After breakfast, we’ll leave Mostar to explore some of the amazing highlights of Herzegovina. We’ll head to Blagaj to visit a beautiful site (entry included) situated at the source of the Buna River. You’ll have time here to explore the site at your leisure.

Then we’ll head to the Žitomislić Monastery so you can step into history at this 15th-century Orthodox monastery, a testament to Herzegovina’s religious and cultural heritage. After the Monastery, we’ll go to Počitelj, a beautiful village that many people describe as the real-life version of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. You’ll get to try authentic Bosnian coffee and a delicious fig cake in this Ottoman setting.

Return to Mostar in the evening to relax.

Included: breakfast, afternoon tea

Overnight: Mostar

After breakfast, we’ll head to the Fortica Skywalk, a new addition to Mostar’s skyline which offers unparalleled views of Mostar and beyond. Following Fortica will visit the Podveležje Plateau, home to medieval tombstones and a memorial centre.

From here, we’ll venture into the countryside to enjoy the serene beauty of the rural landscape and a traditional Bosnian lunch. We’ll visit Nevesinje and the village of Kljuna, to learn about the local culture and the history of the village in general and during the Bosnian Genocide.

After we head back to Mostar, you’ll have the evening off for leisure time and some shopping, if you need any souvenirs!

Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight in Mostar

We’ll spend the day in the beautiful town of Stolac learning more about the history of the city and the conditions during the Bosnian War.

We’ll also explore the Walled Town of Vidoski (Old Town of Stolac). We”ll have lunch in a restaurant with a beautiful setting, and one of our favorites in the country!

The immersive experience with Hybrid Tours, merging culture and education, broadened my understanding of historical events, giving me a more nuanced perspective of the complexities and contexts behind them. Interacting with knowledgeable guides, first-hand witnesses and historians brought stories to life, filling in gaps and answering questions that I never knew I had. The founders Hira and Sibu's passion and expertise were infectious, making each moment on the tour enlightening and memorable.

This was the most unique trip I have ever been on. It combined the very tough history of Bosnia and Herzegovina along with tourism: sharing the beautiful cities and natural areas in this country! I had some of the best food I’ve ever had in Europe, saw incredible nature and also experienced meeting so many amazing individuals that were survivors of the genocide. They shared their stories and I learned in a way I never had, not from museums but from the people that actually lived through the events themselves! This is a pioneer for a new type of tourism! Get on these trips before they start filling out like crazy!

The trip to Bosnia was one of my favorite experiences ever. I got to explore the country, its diverse people, complicated history, and delicious food so well within just a few days. You will meet people who went through unspeakable pain but you will also get to relax and laugh lots along the way. The incredible and loving people who organise the trip are dedicated to the fullest and it feels more like you’re hanging out with old friends! Don’t think too much just sign up, it’s worth every penny!

This was not only my first trip to Bosnia, but it was also my first trip to Europe and it was beyond my expectations. Beginning with the history, to the road trip, to learning about the nation, it was a wonderful experience. The best part was that the guide Demir and The Hybrid Tours didn’t treat us like tourists - they treated us like friends throughout the whole trip. I’m excited to go back and visit Bosnia!

I had the opportunity to behold, explore and learn about Bosnia and Herzegovina through the perspective of its warm and charming locals. And.. Whoa. I never could’ve anticipated how exquisite, fascinating and deeply worthwhile of an experience it would be traveling through some of the nation’s past and present. To feast my eyes on otherworld beauty. To witness the fierce spirit of citizens still suffering from ongoing injustices. To drive through gorgeous mountains, soak in panoramic views of fairyland waterfalls and chill in city centers with a culture preserved from a time before. To walk in the spaces where the genocide took place in the 90s. To talk with lovely, down to earth and laid back locals who... remember.

The trip to Bosnia was rewarding in many ways; I learned a lot about the historical and cultural background of the city in a different era. It is a country that carries a lot of sorrows and scars, that has experienced tensions but is still filled with charm and beauty. I am talking about its unique landscapes and the brightness it has kept despite its past. Shared collective pain and joy are, in my opinion, what brings people together and creates connections. This is exactly what I experienced in Bosnia and so, I am deeply humbled and grateful for the testimonies of Demir Mahmutcehajic, Hasan Nuhanovic, and Nana Fata who have chosen to act with generosity in sharing their stories rather than with bitterness. I am also very grateful to have met people who were equally drawn to discovering Bosnia's past and with whom I could experience and share a range of emotions that came up during my visit. A heartfelt thank you to Hira, Sibu and Demir for organizing this wonderful trip. I highly recommend it.
